Aida (School Edition)
THIS TITLE IS LICENSED BY MUSIC THEATRE INTERNATIONAL (MTI).
Recipient of four Tony Awards in 2000, Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida presents an extensive narrative of affection, fidelity, and treachery, detailing the complex relationship triangle involving Aida, a Nubian princess captured from her homeland, Amneris, an Egyptian royal, and Radames, the soldier they both admire.
A Nubian princess, Aida, becomes emotionally entwined with Radames, an Egyptian soldier engaged to the Pharaoh's daughter, Amneris. As their prohibited affection develops, Aida must consider her obligations as the leader of her people. The bond between Aida and Radames serves as a compelling illustration of genuine commitment that surpasses the significant cultural divides between their rival nations, signaling a period of exceptional peace and prosperity.
Aida (School Edition) presents a remarkable score that includes powerful ballads and vibrant choral pieces. This contemporary adaptation supports multicultural casting and dynamic choreography, effectively accommodating large ensembles. This edition, endorsed by the author, has been condensed to a duration of slightly more than two hours and tailored specifically for young performers, ensuring the original work's artistic integrity remains intact.
